In less than a week, the ground broke and the work began on a new Casey’s General Store in Piedmont.
The dirt work started on Monday, Aug. 10, and by Monday, Aug. 17, the forms were set for the building at 1863 N Piedmont Road.
Workers from Zernco Construction, contractors for the job, expect to complete the building
by the middle of December, said field engineer Marc McKernan.
The new store will be at the northwest corner of Piedmont and Edmond roads.
Piedmont will have three convenience stores when the Casey’s store opens. Two other convenience stores, Wild Cat Stop, and City Stop are located at Piedmont Road and Monroe Avenue.
