A heat advisory has been issued for Wednesday through Thursday for Piedmont, the National Weather Service reports.
The afternoon heat index will be 107-108 degrees with high humidity, the weather service reports.
The advisory takes effect at 1 p.m. Wednesday and will remain in effect until 7 p.m. Thursday.
People should drink plenty of fluids and take precautions outdoors. Motorists should not leave any children or pets in vehicles.
The high temperature in Piedmont Wednesday will be 97 degrees with a heat index of 107.
The high temperature Thursday will be 100 degrees with a heat index of 108.
The high temperature Friday will be 100 degrees.
Cooler weather is ahead next week.
