Incumbent Melissa Ashford won the Piedmont City Council Ward V race Tuesday night, and incumbent Al Gleichmann lost in Ward III, the State Election Board unofficial results show.
Ryan Austin Redus won the Ward III race.
Ashford said she will work toward putting a proposed $28 utility increase to improve city roads to a vote of the people.
She said she knocked on doors of about 328 homes, three times during her campaign.
Ashford won her race with 137 votes, 53.94% over challenger Mandy Swatek, 117 votes, 46.06%.
“I’m not disappointed in the numbers. I’m very appreciative of my voters turned out,” Ashford said.
Ryan Austin Redus had 108 votes, 41.7% in Ward III over Megan Dawson, 104 votes, 40.15%, and Gleichmann, 35 votes, 13.51% and Austin Rohrs, 12 votes, 4.63%.
