Hoyte Eugene Bargman passed away at his home on May 25, 2020 at the age of 94.
Hoyte was born on June 23, 1925 to Willie Phillips in Paris, Arkansas. His mother passed when he was a young boy. In 1937, he was adopted by Jake and Liva Bargman. Upon adoption, Hoyte attended Scott School in Yukon, Oklahoma where Liva taught, graduating from Yukon High School in 1944. After high school , Hoyte went on to join the U.S. Army where he served with the 152nd Airborne Anti-aircraft Battalion in Hokkaido Japan during World War II where he served as an automotive mechanic. Hoyte was honorably discharged with the rank of Sargent on May 4 , 1947. When he returned to the states, Hoyte began working as a heavy line mechanic with Scott Chevrolet in Oklahoma City where he worked for 18 years. After leaving Scott Chevrolet he began a career with Downtown Chevrolet where he remained until 1972. Hoyte and his son Phil began farming on his parent’s farm until he retired in 1987. Hoyte met his wife Ann Obsivac while attending Yukon High School; they dated for 7 years until they began their 64 year marriage in February of 1950.

They had 2 children Phil and Lesa born in 1951 and 1956 respectively. In 1956 Hoyte and his friend Johnny Cox began building a home on Hoyte’s farm land, working nights and weekends until the home was completed in April 1960. Hoyte and his family lived in the home for 39 years until during the building of the John Kilpatrick Turnpike expansion the state purchased the western portion of the property.

Hoyte and Ann moved to their new home where they lived together until her passing in 2014.

He was preceded in death by his daughter and his beloved wife.

Hoyte is survived by his son, Phil Bargman and wife Ramona, and his grandchildren, Melissa Bargman Parker and husband Scott, Daniel Adams and Brianna Parker. Hoyte will be sorely missed by his family and many friends.
