Chester’s Party Barn & Farm, 5201 Cimarron Road NW in Piedmont, added a new wedding barn called The Chesterfield.

For the grand opening of The Chesterfield, owner Robin Hocker is offering 45 minute weddings for $99 on Saturday, June 13.

Coleen Conine, event and wedding coordinator, says the weddings will take place from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Couples who want to book a 45 minute wedding should contact Conine at coleen.cpbf@gmail.com. Couples will be invoiced through PayPal.

Hocker is an ordained minister and will perform the ceremonies.

In keeping with CDC guidelines, chairs will be set up so that couples may have under 50 guests. The bridal party and guests are not required to wear masks.

“We will have tables set up for a reception,” Conine says. “Couples must bring their marriage license, that they obtained at a courthouse, plus anything else they want such as bouquets, photographer, food, drinks, plates, utensils, napkins, and cups.”

Conine says The Chesterfield provides a wedding arch decorated with flowers. Couples are not allowed to change the decorations or add to the decorations in any way.

There is no piano or organ at The Chesterfield. But the venue offers a variety of wedding instrumental music that couples may use. Or, couples may bring their own musicians with instruments, such as a guitarist and vocalist.

“We have already booked two couples,” says Conine.

“One of the couples is using the entire 45 minutes for their reception. Couples can do just about whatever they want, as long as they are in and out in 45 minutes.”

Conine says, “Weddings have been cancelled and postponed due to the pandemic. But a lot of couples wanted to go ahead and get married. So, some were going to do a courthouse wedding, and then have a full wedding next year. This is like a courthouse wedding, but it’s not at the courthouse. This is a lot prettier than a courthouse.”
