Tobias Johnson, a Piedmont High School senior and Academic All-Stater, will be featured in a weekend TV special.
The Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence Academic Awards Tribute will be on OETA Public Television.
The program honors 100 public high school seniors as Academic All-Staters and five innovative educators as Oklahoma Medal for Excellence winners.
The honorees will be recognized through the statewide special television broadcast on May 16 and 17. The program will be hosted by Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence Trustee Scott Thompson, a longtime Tulsa television news anchor.
The 30-minute tribute to the award winning-students and educators will be 5:30 p.m. Saturday, May 16, and 3:30 p.m. Sunday, May 17. The program will also be shown on OETA World Channel at 8:30 p.m. May 23 and 7:30 p.m. May 30.
A Piedmont High School graduation section with photos of seniors will appear Thursday in the Piedmont-Surrey Gazette, and follow piedmontnewsonline.com for local news.
