Brisket at the Barn, an annual event of Piedmont’s F&M Bank, has been canceled due to the city’s state of emergency.

Eric Anderson, President of F&M Bank’s Piedmont branch, said the annual event in May was canceled this year after the city of Piedmont extended the emergency proclamation to May 31 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event, which has taken place for the past 21 years, has not been rescheduled for this year.

“These are strange times for sure, so it is very difficult to make future plans when things are changing daily,” Anderson said Friday.
