A thunderstorm is moving into the Piedmont area and northeast Canadian County Sunday afternoon, the National Weather Service reported.

A significant weather advisory has been issued for northwestern Oklahoma and northeastern Canadian counties until 1:45 p.m. Sunday.

A strong thunderstorm was located over northwestern Oklahoma City, moving northeast at 25 MPH.

Hail up to one-half inch diameter is possible.

A wind advisory has been issued for central Oklahoma, including Canadian and Kingfisher counties, for Sunday afternoon, The National Weather Service reported.

Winds from the north of 30 mph to 40 mph could gust up to 55 mph from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. across portions of the state. Motorists are urged to take precautions in lighter vehicles. The high winds could cause damage to property or power outages, the weather service reported.

Overnight, temperatures will drop to 27 to 32 degrees, the weather service reported.

There is a chance for rain and snow Tuesday.

A 10% chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7 p.m. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 31. Windy, with a north wind 26 to 31 mph decreasing to 16 to 21 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 44 mph.

Partly sunny, with a high near 48. North, northeast wind 9 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
