Piedmont (2-1, 2-0) took care of business in its home opener Tuesday, dominating Del City (0-2, 0-2) in all phases on route to a 15-0 win in five innings.

Each player in the Wildcat starting lineup recorded at least one hit, totaling 18 overall while senior starting pitcher Chloe Bohuslavicky allowed just one knock herself in the team’s second straight district win.

The Wildcats didn’t wait to light up the scoreboard, plating nine runs on nine hits and an error in the bottom of the first inning. Senior third baseman Rikki Hadley drove in three runs on two doubles in the inning as the team nearly batted around twice.

Piedmont extended its lead to 10-0 in the second inning before Hadley and Bohuslavicky sparked a four-run third with back-to-back home runs to start the frame. The duo combined to go 5-for-6 with five RBI and four extra-base hits. Senior center fielder Jade Rowland drove in the third run of the inning with a double before later scoring an RBI single by senior catcher Ellie Griffin. Senior Lauren Anglin drove in the team’s final run in the bottom of the fourth.

Six players finished with at least two hits in the game, including Hadley (3-for-3), Bohuslavicky (2-for-3), Rowland (2-for-2), Griffin (2-for-2), junior right fielder Ashlyn Brown (2-for-2) and senior first baseman Sydney Kozikowski (3-for-3).

Bohuslavicky picked up her second win of the season, needing just 47 pitches to work through four innings with seven strikeouts. Senior Clara Pyle finished off the Eagles with two strikeouts in a perfect fifth inning.

The Wildcats have now won two straight after a season-opening loss at Class 6A Yukon. They have the next six days off before heading to the Shawnee Tournament next Thursday through Saturday.
