The ladies of the Canadian County Treasurer’s Office have been working tirelessly to convert, print, fold, and get ready to mail the 2018 taxes on November 21.
This year our item count has surpassed 71k accounts and it is a group effort!
As there are probably many first time home/property owners, here is a quick refresher course in Oklahoma ad valorem tax.
For individuals paying the first half or full amount, the envelope must be postmarked by December 31, 2018. We also have echeck and credit card options available online only. The second half is due by April 1, 2019. Additional information is also printed on the back of your statement.
If you purchased your home/property after October 1, 2018, please refer to your closing statement to see that you were credited the prorated amount owed by the seller and remember that you or your escrow must pay the full amount for 2018.
If you do not received a statement, PLEASE go online to www.canadiancounty.org and drop down to Treasurer under Departments, or canadiancountytreasurer.org, or call our office (405-295-6330) for a duplicate.
