2018 CLASS 5A STATE TOURNAMENT QUARTERFINALS

The Wildcats defeated Guthrie 3-1 on Thursday after taking the lead late in the game.
The game was tied at 1-1 with Piedmont batting in the top of the sixth when Ellie Griffin singled on the first pitch of the at-bat, scoring one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides.

Chloe Bohuslavicky struck out seven, while Karrah Dean sat down 13.
Bohuslavicky pitched the Cats to victory. She allowed five hits and one run over seven innings, striking out seven.

Dean took the loss for Guthrie. She lasted seven innings, allowing seven hits and three runs while striking out 13.

Kenedi Morelock, Bohuslavicky, Griffin, Jade Rowland, Ashlyn Brown, Cozee Clark, and Jordan Collins each managed one hit to lead the Wildcats.

Piedmont didn’t commit a single error in the field. Sydney Kozikoski had ten chances, the most on the team.
