Emma Louis “Mama Lou” Collier

Born Sept. 30, 1925, in Hopkins, GA to Ottis and Mary Hendrix, Emma Louis “Mama Lou” Collier grew up in Folkstone, GA, near the Okefenokee Swamp.

She shared many stories over the years about her childhood. There were three siblings, all deceased, brothers, Ottis Hendrix Jr. and Arthur Hendrix and sister, Elizabeth Hendrix Webb.

In 1944 she married Arnold H. Haddock, deceased and to this union produced two children, Arnold T. Haddock, deceased, and wife Jan Haddock and Linda Long Frazier and husband Jim C. Frazier: three grandchildren, Col Perry M. Long III (retired) and wife Stacy, Tina H. Corella and husband Michael, and Arnold William Haddock. In 1982 Louise married James E. Collier, deceased. Jim’s children are, Lynn Dudley and husband Bob, and Glen Collier, and also Lynn and Bob’s son, Ron Dudley. The combined families gave Louise eight great-grandchildren.

Louise went to be with God May 27, 2018. She was born to a God worshiping family and kept her faith strong all of her life. She witnessed in all the places her life took her. She and Jim were missionaries in both Turkey and the Bahamas. She made many friends and called many others her adopted children, all of which loved her as she loved them. Two of the adopted children are: Lyndall Crowe and wife Dana, and Janis Robinson and husband Donnie. These loving friends/children were loyal to her for years and with her during her final days. She leaves her best friend Beverly Conklin to carry on the birthday lunches at the Piedmont Diner. Louise was a homemaker extraordinaire, a loving mother, a true friend in Christ, and everyone will sadly miss her fellowship. She prayed for them in all their times of need. They relished her coconut cakes at their birthdays. She lived in GA, FL, and OK. She leaves a legacy of love, faith, and example to all she ever came to know.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 2, 2018, at the First Baptist Church of Piedmont, 15 Jackson Ave NW, Piedmont, OK, where she was a long time member. Brother Gary Caldwell will officiate. A Private interment will be held in Anadarko OK, where she will be buried next to her beloved Jim.
