A Yukon school bus transporting 58 Surrey Hills Elementary students collided with a pickup truck at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday morning on Morgan Road northbound near the Kilpatrick Turnpike southbound entrance ramp.

According to initial reports by Oklahoma City Police, the driver and passenger of the pickup truck were transported to Baptist Hospital by EMSA and six students from the school bus claimed they were injured, but none were transported to the hospital.

Oklahoma City Police said the driver of the truck was headed southbound on Morgan when it turned left in front of the bus, causing the left front of the bus to collide with the truck.

Reports indicate most of the 58 students were transported to school on another bus, while others were released to their parents.

58 students on ONE bus!! That’s more than the ridership of the entire Piedmont school district. At least one school district can justify a transportaion bond – but it ain’t us.

Once again Vernon has no clue.
