Piedmont Park Project committee to hold community meeting

By Eric Anderson
F&M Bank President

Have you heard? We are working to build a park in Piedmont, but we need your help. The Piedmont Park Project has several opportunities for all members of the community to help and get involved, including all the little ones as well.

At 6:30 p.m., Thursday, July 24, we will host a community meeting at the Intermediate School. During this meeting, you will have an opportunity to view a slide show regarding the plans and hopes for the future park in our community. There will be refreshments and an opportunity to volunteer in multiple capacities. This park will not be a success without the help and support of our community.

We will be hosting an opportunity for each of you to Design Your Own Dream Park. Take a blank 8 ½ X 11 in. paper and design what you would like as your Dream Park. The sky is the limit on your design.

Please include your name, age, school (if still attend), and phone number on the back of your design. These submissions can be turned in at: F&M Bank; Bussett Law Firm, Butterfly Gypsee or you may scan and email them to piedmontparkproject@gmail.com. Designs must be submitted by midnight, Monday, Aug. 18. The top five winning designs will be prominently featured on a T-shirt that will be used as a fundraiser to help build our park. Please note: these designs will be used as inspiration but not as the actual design of the Piedmont Park.

On Thursday, Aug. 28, we will have our big community-wide Playground Design Day. Leathers and Associates will visit the children in our community at our local schools to get their input on the perfect playground. Leathers will take the information gathered and review the design that evening. Be sure to watch for more information coming soon.

We also have a contest going on our Facebook page through July 20. Go like us on Facebook to check it out. Hint: the prize is a $200 gift certificate from Chester’s Party Barn.

If you would like more information on the Piedmont Park Project or how you can help make this park a reality, please email us at piedmontparkproject@gmail.com or you can always talk to Eric Anderson at F&M Bank.
