Piedmont resident Rachel Bussett has officially opened a law firm in Piedmont.

Bussett said opening up a two-day-per-week law office in the city she lives in is exciting. She said she brings “big city experience and small town values” to the new Bussett law office.

The new satellite law office, located in the ECI building on the corner of Monroe NW and Piedmont Road, will be open two days a week to start.

Bussett and her husband, Curtis, have a law firm in Oklahoma City and with the addition of this satellite operation, she will be able to serve people in her community without restricting the services they offer.

“We do a little bit of everything,” she said. “We focus on family law, estate planning, personal injury, employment and criminal cases.”

She and Curtis had been contemplating opening a business in Canadian County because their clientele from Canadian County has increased recently.

“I’m a member of the Chamber in town and lived in Piedmont most of the time that I’ve lived in Oklahoma,” Bussett said. “The community has grown and now we have a dentist, doctor, CPA and insurance agency. It seemed like the one thing that our town was lacking was a law firm, somebody that people know and can trust and see them as a member of the community they could go to for legal services.”

She is looking forward to bringing in her big city experience from practicing law in Oklahoma City for so many years, and small town values to the Piedmont community by offering this local law service.
